• Detecting bacteria in blood is challenging because their concentration is extremely low (1–10 CFU/ml). • Our technology enables rapid capture and amplification of Staphylococcus aureus, a major antibiotic-resistant pathogen, within a short time frame. • Captured or amplified bacteria can be identified by qPCR and tested for antibiotic susceptibility using standard methods. • The technology has been successfully validated at the laboratory level; clinical trials and commercialization are the next steps.
